🦨 Bmw F30 335I Common Problems
Honda Generica. The newer the model year, the more reliable the 335i seems to be. This is according to consumer reports; they have a chart showing the reliability of each year. 2007 is a particularly bad year, and 2008 has some black marks as well. That's why I purchased a 2009 when I recently was in the market for a used 335i.
Ive had both my passenger and driver side replaced under warranty. this has happened to me on my e46, e90, and now my f30. its a known issue and the actuator needs to be replaced to fix it. My e90 had it replaced under CPO and all i paid was the $50 deductible. I would assume the F30 has it covered under CPO as well. _____
For the most part, BMWs are high performance luxury vehicles. Consequently, one must keep this in mind when paying for it. I've owned BMWs almost exclusively since 2001 with my latest a 2014 F30 335i. BMWs are more expensive to maintain than the popular Japanese or Korean vehicles, but are much more enjoyable to drive.
Adaptive M suspension problem. Hello, I have BMW 4 F36 with adaptive M suspension. Last week I was at my dealership performing regular oil change in my car and they also updated software with the new version. After this update my car is firmer and actually there is basically only slight difference between Comfort and Sport suspension settings.
Affected Models. 2006 to 2012 BMW 335i ; 2001 to 2006 BMW 330i ; 1999 to 2001 BMW 740i ; Although most BMW models look hot in terms of design, some iterations tend to experience overheating.
Drives: 2015 BMW 335i. Join Date: May 2019. Location: Cali. iTrader: ( 0) The clutch will start to slip at low to mid 400wtq (i.e., BM3 stage 2 E30 map). With a good clutch and flywheel the trans itself should hold 500+wtq without a problem, although your driving habits, wheel/tire setup, etc, can obviously affect that.
I owned a manual F31 335i. Should have been a great step up from my manual E91 335i. Sadly, the gearbox calibration and emissions requirements meant that the rev hang in the F31 made the car poor to drive. Loved the idea, but BMW poorly executed it. Now, mine was a 65 plate, so one of the last. Apparently the earlier cars didn't suffer from it.
Carbon buildup is a common issue in pretty much every direct injection engine so it’s not exclusive to the BMW 3-Series. However, the N54 engine used in the BMW 335i from 2006 to 2010 is more prone to excessive carbon buildup than other BMW engines. This was BMW’s first mass-produced turbo engine and was plagued with many issues.
